Ajang penghargaan American Music Awards (AMA) 2021 telah digelar pada hari ini atau Senin (22/11) WIB. Acara AMA 2021 yang dipandu oleh Cardi B ini menampilkan 30 kategori yang diperebutkan oleh masing-masing nominasi.
AMA 2021 berlangsung meriah dengan memberikan beberapa kejutan. Termasuk salah satunya kolaborasi live antara BTS dengan Coldplay untuk pertama kalinya. BTS dan Coldplay menyanyikan single mereka berjudul ‘My Universe’ di panggung AMA 2021.
Nominasi AMA sendiri dipilih berdasarkan streaming, penjualan album, penjualan lagu, pemutaran di radio, keterlibatan sosial yang dipilih oleh Billboard. Pemenang dari AMA 2021 telah ditentukan oleh voting penggemar.
Untuk kategori Favorite Male Pop Artist berhasil dimenangkan oleh Ed Sheeran yang mengalahkan nominasi lainnya seperti Drake, Justin Bieber, Lil Nas X dan The Weeknd. Sementara itu kategori Favorite Female Pop Artist dimenangkan oleh Taylor Swift.
BTS berjaya di American Music Awards (AMA) 2021 dengan memenangkan tiga piala yakni di kategori Favorite pop duo or group, Artist of the Year, dan Favorite Pop Song.
